The Dodgers go for 12 tonight -- 12 consecutive victories at home to start the season -- which would tie the 1911 Detroit Tigers for the major league record. Those Tigers finished 89-54, in second place in the American League behind the Philadelphia A’s.

Hall of Fame outfielder Ty Cobb (pictured, file photo) hit .420 for those 1911 Tigers.
