The status of UCLA tight Logan Paulsen doesn’t appear good, as the senior showed up at practice Monday on crutches and wearing a protective boot on his right foot.

Paulsen injured the foot during Saturday’s scrimmage while making a 19-yard reception. Initial X-rays were ‘inconclusive’ according to UCLA officials, but Paulsen said they showed a ‘gray’ area that could be a fracture.

Pauslen suffered a broken bone inthe same foot against Tennessee during the 2008 opener and missed the entire season. He was granted a medical redshirt year so he could return for the 2009 season.

The injury has left the Bruins short on tight ends for spring practice. Ryan Moya is out after minor surgeries on his knee and ankle. Cory Harkey has been slowed with a hamstring injury. As a result, tackle Nate Chandler, who switched from tight end to tackle, was wearing his tight end number (44) at practice today.
