Pete Carroll didn’t pull an April Fools’ joke this year, though you have to wonder if he secretly choreographed that whole “Tim Floyd to Arizona” thing. Some Trojans made up for it with this little stunt pulled while an episode of “House” was being filmed. If you don’t watch the show, it’s not just another medical drama like “E.R.” -- it’s bust-out-loud hilarious. Since “Boston Legal” and Denny Crane went off the air, Dr. Gregory House is the most sublimely hysterical character on TV. It figures their crew would try this on the set.

The Spirit of Troy has been busy even though USC’s two biggest sports are done for the year. They also appeared on the inaugural West Coast episode of ESPN’s Sports Center.

Is it a coincidence that Sports Center’s initials are SC? Of course. But it’s pretty convenient that the school is less than two miles from the network’s new digs at LA Live.

In other Trojan Marching Band news, auditions for the next drum major are gearing up and one of the prospects is a girl. It’s just the second time in history they’ve had a female candidate, and she would be the first to win the job.

We’re pretty sure they’re not adding a sumo wrestler or unicyclist like in the “House” video -- unless they’ve been infiltrated by some Stanford kids.
