At 11 a.m. Wednesday the MLB Network will have loads of special programming in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. First up is the documentary ‘Pride and Perseverance: The Story of the Negro Leagues’ that debuted on the network last January and is narrated by Dave Winfield. The story culminates with UCLA graduate Robinson’s breaking of the color barrier in 1947.

Next up will be World Series highlight films that feature Robinson and the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1953 when Robinson batted .320, but the Yankees won in six games, and from 1955 when the Dodgers beat the Yankees in seven games. At 1:30 p.m., the channel will show The Jackie Robinson Story, a 1950 movie where Robinson starred as himself and Ruby Dee played his wife Rachel Robinson. Then MLB Tonight will begin at 3 p.m.
