The MLB Network is trying to be innovative and this sounds intriguing. Thursday the cable network will begin airing a series of what they are calling video vignettes that ‘re-create classic moments in baseball history, imagining how those moments may have looked with camera angles that did not exist at the time.’

The first will look at Bob Gibson’s performance during Game 1 of the 1968 World Series. Gibson struck out 17 Detroit Tigers in that game. It will air before the debut of Thursday Night Baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers at the San Francisco Giants, beginning at 3 p.m. PT.

Six of these ‘re-creations’ are planned, including one where Jackie Robinson steals home against Yogi Berra in the 1955 World Series and another with Willie Mays’ over-the-shoulder catch in the 1954 World Series.
