Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 7, because of what the team is calling a mild left oblique muscle strain.

Kuroda, the opening day starter on Monday, had complained of tightness during a bullpen session. An MRI exam showed no structural damage, however, according to orthopedist Dr. Neal ElAttrache.

Kuroda will be eligible to come off the DL on April 22. Stay tuned to latimes.com/sports for full coverage.
