Totally classy move by the Ducks on Friday to pay tribute to Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and Cal State Fullerton students Courtney Stewart and Henry Pearson, who were killed when the car in which they were traveling was struck by an alleged drunk driver who ran a red light early Thursday morning.

Photos of the three were shown on the center-ice scoreboard and a moment of silence was observed -- complete and respectful silence, without any loudmouths shouting for one team or the other. After the public address announcer thanked the crowd for its show of respect, the fans spontaneously applauded.

But the senselessness of those deaths apparently hasn’t hit home with everybody. On the drive to the Honda Center, I counted three drivers who ran red lights at major intersections. Luckily, none of those idiots caused collisions.
