MERCED, CALIF. -- Astana team director Johan Bruyneel said this morning that one of the four bikes stolen out of a team truck Saturday night or Sunday morning in Sacramento had been recovered. But it wasn’t Lance Armstrong’s time-trial bike.

The road racing bike of Janez Brajkovic of Slovenia showed up on Tuesday at the Sacramento hotel where the bikes had been stolen. The bike was checked out by team technicians and was being ridden by Brajkovic in today’s Stage 4 between Merced and Clovis.

Two other road bikes and Armstrong’s time-trial bike are still missing.

And it looks like the Amgen Tour of California is going to be rain-free for the first time in five days. The peloton is skirting Yosemite right now.
