Hockey teams take advantage of Blagojevich’s legal troubles

I realize the year is young, but the promotional ploy of the year has to go to the marketing geniuses who dubbed Friday’s ECHL hockey game between the Bakersfield Condors and the Las Vegas Wranglers as ‘Gov. Rod Blagojevich Prison Uniform Night.’

The Wranglers hit the ice wearing black-and-white-striped throwbacks (kind of like those hideous barbershop uniforms the Montreal Canadiens wore on Sunday) and the Condors wore orange jumpsuits similar to the ones worn by California prison inmates.

Bakersfield may have won, 3-1, but that didn’t stop the Wranglers’ faithful from having a good time lampooning the former governor’s legal troubles. Be sure to check out this video:
