No good can come from playing for the Clippers.

Apparently, no good can come from playing against them, either.

Boston came to town and was shocked last night, 93-91. It should have been a nice homecoming for guard Gabe Pruitt, who was a star locally at Westchester High and USC. But a few hours after the Celtics were clipped, Pruitt was popped.

The Boston backup was arrested about 3 a.m. in Hollywood on suspicion of driving under the influence. L.A. Now reports that the incident occurred at Sunset Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue, a few blocks from the LAPD’s Hollywood station.

Pruitt was charged with a misdemeanor and released about 8:30 a.m. Probably wasn’t too hard coming up with the $5,000 bail -- he was driving a Mercedes S550 and his 2009 salary is listed at $711,517.

Prior to his arrest, Pruitt played six minutes and had 3 points in the loss to the Clippers. He’s been averaging 8.8 minutes and 2.3 points per game this season on just 31% shooting. If a DUI charge doesn’t make things bad enough for his job security, the Celtics are expected to land Stephon Marbury tomorrow.
