MELBOURNE, Australia -- About 20 minutes before Roger Federer and Andy Roddick are scheduled to come into Rod Laver Arena for their Australian Open men’s semifinal match, it has been announced that the heat emergency is over and the roof will be open.

Since Wednesday afternoon, after the first set of Serena Williams’ three-set win over Svetlana Kuznetsova, the roof has been closed because of the severe heat.
