Lakers’ Andrew Bynum wins NBA honor

Lakers center Andrew Bynum has made such positive strides in the past week that even the NBA has taken notice.

For the first time in his career, Bynum has been named NBA Western Conference player of the week for the week of Jan. 19-25.

Bynum scored a career-high 42 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against the Clippers. He had 23 points and 14 rebounds against the Washington Wizards and finished the week with 15 points and 11 rebounds against the San Antonio Spurs.

He can show his stuff again during tonight’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats, which begins at 7:30 at Staples Center.
