The Kings, clearly feeling better about Jonathan Quick and Erik Ersberg in goal, traded the struggling Jason LaBarbera to the Vancouver Canucks tonight in return for a seventh-round draft choice.

LaBarbera, who will turn 29 in a few weeks, was signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent in August 2005. His career with the Kings was one of ups and downs, first trading time with Mathieu Garon, then fighting to improve his game after being sent to the minors.

As he leaves the Kings, he takes with him a 2.83 goals-against average for this season, a .893 save percentage and a 5-8 record.

Helene Elliott will have more details later this evening on latimes.com/sports.
