Dodgers Manager Joe Torre in Las Vegas*

Dodgers Manager Joe Torre will be making a rare appearance at the winter meetings, which start on Monday in Las Vegas. Torre routinely skipped the event when he managed the New York Yankees, and he skipped them again last year.

In addition to weighing in on player personnel decisions, Torre will learn this week whether he’ll be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a player by the Veterans Committee. Torre will have to be named on 75% of ballots to be part of this year’s class. Results of the vote will be announced on today.
