Sorry for no post on Friday, computer issues were victorious that day. So, better late than never, let’s continue with the countdown of the greatest L.A. Lakers of all time. Friday, the 5th and 6th greatest L.A. Lakers will be revealed. A hint: Kwame Brown is not on the list.

You can still vote too, just e-mail houston.mitchell@latimes.com with you choice of the 10 greatest L.A. Lakers of all time. And no, George Mikan is not eligible, since he didn’t play in L.A. Over 600 ballots have come in, and it’s a four-way race for No. 1.

The 8th greatest L.A. Laker of all time:

Wilt Chamberlain

Obviously, he’d be higher if he spent his entire career with the Lakers. When you talk about the greatest players of all time, he’s in the discussion, but for greatest L.A. Lakers of all time, 8th is about right.

The 7th greatest L.A. Laker of all time:

James Worthy

All Worthy did in his 12 seasons with the team was average 17.9 points per game, be an integral part of three NBA title teams and play in at least 75 games each season except one and be named NBA Finals MVP for the 1987-88 Lakers. Other than that, he didn’t do much.
