The rumors were true.

After teasing us all night about whether Misty May-Treanor and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy would be dancing or not, the Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist came on stage at the end of Monday night’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ on crutches with her left leg in a cast.

No more dancing for Misty. Hard to believe, but 82-year-old Cloris Leachman lasted longer than the 31-year-old athlete. So maybe dancing isn’t a sport?

May-Treanor said she was planning on taking time off from volleyball next year, so she said the injury was ‘perfect timing’ and that, after surgery, she eventually does plan to come back to her sport. No, not dancing.

There was more teasing too, such as will May-Treanor’s injury withdrawal mean someone else (such as last-eliminated Kim Kardashian) get a second chance? We won’t find out until Tuesday night’s results show.
