Before last night’s Dodgers game, the Cubs sent a priest to their dugout to sprinkle around some holy water.

That didn’t work out so well. Somewhere out there Bill Maher is laughing.

Maybe God isn’t a Cubs fan, but just to be sure, when the series comes to Los Angeles, the Dodgers should trot out Tommy Lasorda to bless the joint by sprinkling around a nice marinara.

Meanwhile, at Anaheim Stadium, homeboy continued his postseason struggles.

Normally, I love going to an Angels game because I feel like I’m surrounded by friends. Everybody’s got my name stitched to the back of their jerseys, after all, but my boy Vlad let down the home crowd and tarnished our name. (He probably said the same thing about me after having been dumped by Monday Night Football).

Anyway, can someone explain why Mike Scioscia didn’t substitute a pinch runner for Guerrero in the eighth inning? In the same situation as a Yankee, Joe Torre would’ve made a substitution for, say, Jason Giambi, every time!

Finally, I take a lot of heat for what I wear as a sports reporter, but did anybody get a load of Craig Sagers’ getup last night? On occasion, I show a little bit of cleavage, but that dude shows a little bit of crazy.
