I have a feeling the Ducks will end at least one San Jose streak tonight. A story in today’s San Jose Mercury News points out that the Sharks, winners of a franchise-best four straight games to start the season, have yet to put up their dukes against an opponent, one of five teams in the league that can still make that claim.

‘No sense fighting when we’re winning,’’ said 38-year-old center Jeremy Roenick.

The teams already have an intense rivalry, and it was the Ducks and Sharks, if you remember, who fought four times in the first 15 minutes of an exhibition game at the Honda Center last month. I felt like I was watching the undercard of UFC 89.

I realize the teams didn’t drop their gloves when they met in the season opener last week, but the Ducks were in a much better mood back then. They’re on a four-game losing streak and they aren’t laughing.
