Chivas USA loses forward Harris on eve of playoffs

One day before it was due to leave for Salt Lake City and Saturday afternoon’s playoff game against Real Salt Lake, Chivas USA lost forward Atiba Harris to injury.

The 23-year-old striker suffered a left thigh injury during training in Carson on Thursday morning and was due to undergo an MRI exam later in the day.

Harris, a starter who has scored three goals and assisted on five others in 28 games in 2008, was not expected to be available for the Western Conference semifinal game.
