Chase Daniel leads in Heisman Trophy poll

One of our sister newspapers, The Orlando Sentinel, has a respected poll (The HeismanPundit.com/Orlando Sentinel Heisman Poll) that runs weekly.

Missouri’s Chase Daniel has taken a commanding lead. USC’s Mark Sanchez, who was second last week, dropped to third after a week off, but could gain traction during tomorrow night’s game at Oregon State.

The poll is conducted among 10 Heisman voters from across the country who cast votes for five players each week. Votes are tabulated on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis (with five going to the first-place candidate).
