Fire and ice make everything a bloody mess.

Wednesday’s episode of ‘Revenge’ took us back to Daniel’s and Emily’s engagement party, which kicked off the series last fall with a bang -- gunshots, that is. With the season filling viewers in on events that led to the beachside violence at the Fire & Ice Ball, it finally came time to turn the body over. (Spoiler alert: If you haven’t watched the episode, you might want to stop here.)

‘I was so damn happy to see that I lived,’ said Joshua Bowman, who plays Daniel, after a screening of the episode earlier this week. ‘When I read the script and saw how all the characters thought it was me, I was sort of reading with one eye open. You’ve got to expect the unexpected with a show like this.’

Instead, it was Daniel’s devilish friend, Tyler (Ashton Holmes), who got the hit. But who shot him? Was it Amanda, who returned and then left and then returned? Was it that creepy sensai? Or was it Daniel -- after all, he was the one with blood on his otherwise painfully white tux.

‘You’ll see,’ Bowman said. ‘I know whether he did it or not, but I don’t want to spoil it. I think you can expect to see everyone go on trial. I think justice will be served. Maybe.’

Asked how Daniel’s and Emily’s relationship might shift as he starts to question her motives for being with him, Bowman offered this tease: ‘He’s a lot more switched-on to what’s going on. He’s going to start asking questions. He’s not so gaga for her like he used to be.’
