Puppy Bowl 2012: Relive the canine cuteness

As the New York Giants surpassed the New England Patriots in Sunday’s epic game, a few good four-legged pups were in their own gridiron showdown.

Animal Planet’s annual canine competition, Puppy Bowl VIII, saw growling rat terriers, charging Chihuahuas, and every breed in between, all competing for the title of the Bissell MVP (Most Valuable Puppy)--the winner on air was Fumble; but viewers chose Australian shepherd Aberdeen in a poll . It was two hours of canine cuteness.

And while the eminent cougar, Madonna, took the stage during half-time for the Super Bowl, her kitty brethren took the stage for the Puppy Bowl’s version of a half-time show, which featured feline gymnastics and poses--basically everything Madonna did, but cuter.

The puppies and kittens participating in Puppy Bowl were selected from shelters across the U.S. listed on the Animal Planet website.

Here are some more clips because Mondays can always use some adorableness.
