SAG Awards: ’Modern Family’ wins for ensemble in a TV comedy series

“Modern Family” won the SAG Award for ensemble in a TV comedy series Sunday. It beat out NBC’s “30 Rock,” CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” Fox’s “Glee” and NBC’s “The Office.”
Currently in its third season on ABC, “Modern Family” chronicles the lives of three unique American families, at the head of which is patriarch Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill), father of Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) and Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), and husband of the significantly younger Gloria Delgado-Pritchett.
This is the cast’s second win and third nomination.
The 18th Screen Actors Guild Awards were broadcast nationwide by TNT and TBS from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles.
