Community:
Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) channels his inner Coppola when he’s asked to make a commercial for the college. Luis Guzman guest stars in this new episode (8 p.m. NBC).

The X Factor:
Rihanna performs in this new episode (8 p.m. Fox).

Rules of Engagement:
In this new episode, Jeff (Patrick Warburton) uses an application on his smartphone that automatically sends him to voice mail when he calls Audrey (Megyn Price), so he doesn’t have to talk to her (8:30 p.m. CBS).

Private Practice:
In an intense new two-hour episode, the doctors hold an intervention for Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) when she returns from a drug bender (9 p.m. ABC).

Whitney:
Lisa Lampanelli guest stars in this new episode as the owner of an animal shelter where Whitney and Alex (Whitney Cummings, Chris D’Elia) try to adopt a dog (9:30 p.m. NBC).

The League:
Jeff Goldblum and Sarah Silverman guest star in this new episode (10:30 p.m. FX).

MOVIES

Mad Bastards:

A police officer wants to make things better for the men in his community as three generations of Australians journey toward manhood in this new import starring Dean Daley-Jones and Greg Tait (7 p.m. Sundance).

Beneath the Blue:
In this 2010 sequel to 2007’s “Eye of the Dolphin,” a dolphin research team confronts the U.S. Navy when it suspects experiments with sonar are killing dolphins. Caitlin Wachs, Paul Wesley and Michael Ironside star (8 p.m. KTLA).

Mistletoe Over Manhattan:
The wife of Santa Claus tries to help a divorcing couple rediscover their love in this early holiday treat starring Tricia Helfer and Greg Bryk (8 p.m. Hallmark).
