This week’s TV Movies

SUNDAY

Former daytime diva Oprah Winfrey — remember her? — and game-show gurus Pat Sajak and Alex Trebek are singled out for special honors at “The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” and everyone’s favorite actor-narrator is feted at “The AFI Life Achievement Award Honoring Morgan Freeman.” (CBS, 8 p.m.; TV Land 9 p.m.)

What is it with Steven Spielberg? Does he actually want aliens to attack the Earth? That’s the premise of the new sci-fi series “Falling Skies,” executive-produced by the filmmaker and debuting with a two-hour episode.“ER’s” Noah Wyle (below) stars. (TNT, 9 p.m.)

MONDAY

These are their stories: The men and women of the New York District Attorney’s “Sex Crimes Unit” — a real-life “Law & Order: SVU” — prepare and prosecute cases against offenders while protecting the rights of victims in this documentary. (HBO, 9 p.m.)

TUESDAY

Those little slivers of keratin at the tips of your fingers? No reason they shouldn’t look spiffy and shiny. That’s the job of the manicurists at a schmancy Sherman Oaks nail salon in the new workplace docu-soap “Nail Files.” (TV Guide, 10 and 10:30 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

Not Bill O’Reilly. Not the Palins or Rep. Michele Bachman. Not Kirstie Alley, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” or a certain Sheen — and we don’t mean Martin. None of these will be spared in the stand-up special “Kathy Griffin: Gurrl Down!” (9 p.m. Bravo)

THURSDAY

Of mutts and men: Jason Gann (below) is the dog-suited “Wilfred,” who may or may not be man’s best friend, in this new sitcom. And Louis C.K. is back as the hapless, hangdog “Louie” in this seriously funny semi-autobiographical series. (FX, 10 and 10:30 p.m.)

FRIDAY

Ampersand alert! The new series “Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings” follows the Internet comedy duo’s misadventures in advertising, and those folkie fellows Mumford & Sons perform on a new edition of “Unplugged.” (IFC, 10 p.m.; VH1, 11 p.m.)

SATURDAY

It’s a “Carson Nation” — we’re all just living in it. Carson Kressley of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” fame travels from one town to the next in search of deserving souls in dire need of his signature makeover magic in this new reality series. (OWN, 10 p.m.)
