FAUX NEWS: In the new series “Jon Benjamin Has a Van” the comedian does a send-up of television news reporting 10:30 p.m. Comedy Central.

Pretty Little Liars: The end of last season found Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer (Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Troian Bellisario) resolving to put an end to “A” once and for all. In the season premiere, all eyes in Rosewood are on them (8 p.m. ABC Family).

The Nine Lives of Chloe King: Based on a book series by Celia Thomson, this new drama series stars Skyler Samuels as a teenager who has special catlike powers, including enhanced agility and a set of claws (9 and 10 p.m. ABC Family).

Deadliest Catch: The fleet battles a devastating arctic hurricane as the focus shifts from fishing to survival in this new episode (9 p.m. Discovery). The new spinoff series “After the Catch” set in Hawaii, features fish stories from Bering Sea crab boat captains. Mike Rowe hosts (10 p.m. Discovery).

Memphis Beat: Jason Lee, Alfre Woodard and DJ Qualls return for a new season of this crime drama (9 p.m. TNT).

Braxton Family Values: Michael attends a family dinner in the season finale (9 p.m. WE).

Independent Lens: Lydia Nibley’s new documentary tells the story of Navajo youth Fred Martinez, who confided that he felt as if he were both male and female and became one of the youngest hate crime victims in modern history (10 p.m. KLCS).

Gene Simmons Family Jewels: Shannon starts to lose patience with Gene in the season premiere (10 p.m. A&E).

How the States Got Their Shapes: Host Brian Unger comes to Los Angeles for clues as to how California got so big in this new episode (10 p.m. History).

Hawthorne: Marc Anthony becomes a regular cast member in the season premiere (10 p.m. TNT).
