CBS has picked up two new series for next season as it readies its fall schedule announcement next week.

‘Two Broke Girls,’ from former ‘Sex and the City’ writer-producer Michael Patrick King, is a multicamera sitcom starring Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings as two young women trying to make it in New York with very little money. James Burrows, who most recently oversaw ‘Mike & Molly’ for CBS, is slated to direct.

‘Person of Interest’ is a crime drama from mega-producer J.J. Abrams. It’s about a ex-CIA agent who works with a mysterious billionaire to fight crime in New York. It stars Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel.

While both series have been ordered, it’s unknown when they will premiere or where they might land on the schedule. CBS will reveal its fall schedule on Wednesday.
