The Middle: Mike (Neil Flynn) bans Axl (Charlie McDermott) from playing in the final basketball game of the season, when the boy has a shot at breaking a free-throw record Mike set years earlier in this new episode (8 p.m. ABC).

Better With You: Maddie (Jennifer Finnigan) tells everyone she’s made partner at work, just before she gets laid off in this new episode (8:30 p.m. ABC).

Shedding for the Wedding: After three months of working on their weight loss at home, the couples return in the season finale of this weight-loss competition series (9 p.m. KTLA).

Happy Endings: In the premiere of this new sitcom, a bride-to-be (Elisha Cuthbert) leaves her groom (Zachary Knighton) at the altar, sending their friends into a panic as they try to remain friends with both of them — not an easy proposition. Eliza Coupe, Adam Pally, Damon Wayans Jr. and Casey Wilson also star (9:30 p.m. ABC).
