The two-hour premiere of the singing competition with celebrity judges, including Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, logged 11.8 million total viewers, according to the Nielsen Co.

In viewers ages 18 to 49, ‘The Voice’ averaged a 5.1 Nielsen rating and a 13 share -- the best performance for any network series premiere since CBS’ ‘Undercover Boss’ after the Super Bowl last year.

Best of all for NBC, the show delivered higher ratings as it moved along, a reliable sign of viewer interest.
