Katie Couric will appear as a guest on NBC’s ‘Today,’ a show she once co-anchored, the network announced Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, Couric will chat about her new book, ‘The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons From Extraordinary Lives,’ and her possible plans for the future.

Since it’s widely believed that Couric will soon cede her post at ‘CBS Evening News’ to Scott Pelley, her choice to appear on a rival network’s morning show should raise a few eyebrows: Couric has been talking with former ‘Today’ show producer Jeff Zucker about possibly teaming up on a syndicated talk show, and some are already speculating that ‘Today’ host Matt Lauer, who will see his contract with NBC News end in 2012, will reunite with Couric and Zucker on that project.
