Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are about to increase their power couple status. It was announced Wednesday that the duo are teaming with “American Idol” creator Simon Fuller for a new show celebrating Latin music.

“Q’Viva! The Chosen” will see the superstar couple traveling to major cities and remote villages to assemble a cast of performers and create a live show that will, according to the press release, “become one of the greatest celebrations of Latin culture that the world has ever seen.” Way to oversell.

“This is a show for the 21st century with an unprecedented global and local story,” said Lopez, who recently became a judge on “American Idol,” in a statement. “The Latin culture is a tapestry that is rich in passion, tradition and artistry. We are going to places where all of this talent lives and wouldn’t have otherwise been discovered. This journey for me and Marc is going to be exciting and groundbreaking.”

Murmurs about the show, which pair the couple with Fuller and his production company XIX Entertainment, made the rounds last week before Wednesday’s official announcement.

The series will be filmed in three languages and broadcast simultaneously across 21 countries in North America, Central America and South America. Network partners were not yet announced.

“Latin music and dance is loved all over the world, but there has never been a particular show or live experience that truly celebrates its beauty and splendor,” Fuller said in a statement. “Q’Viva is that show.’

ShowTrackers, what do you think of Lopez’s new endeavor? Will you be tuning in?
