NBC announced Tuesday the premiere date for Paul Reiser’s new comedy series.

“The Paul Reiser Show” will make its debut on the peacock network on Thursday, April 14. It stars Reiser — in case that wasn’t obvious — as ... Reiser! A fictionalized version, anyway. Hey, if Larry David, Matt LeBlanc and company can do it, so can Mr. “Mad About You.”

The series picks up a few years after Reiser’s hit series went off the air as he continues writing and producing television out of the spotlight. The show will follow his adventures with a new group of “friends,” most of whom are obligatory since they’re husbands of his wife’s friends and dads of his children’s classmates.

The comedy will take the place of freshman comedy “Perfect Couples.”
