Survivor: Redemption Island: The 18 contestants (16 newcomers and two series veterans) arrive in Nicaragua to begin competing in the season premiere (8 p.m. CBS).

American Idol: The Hollywood round continues in this new episode (8 p.m. Fox).

Better With You: Heading out for an important job interview, Casey (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) borrows a leather jacket, unaware that the garment has a history of bringing the wearer bad luck — including Ben (Josh Cooke), who was wearing the jacket when he accidentally dropped a blanket on New York Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher (Garcia Swisher’s real-life husband, guest starring as himself) at a crucial moment of play in this new episode (8:30 p.m. ABC).

Mr. Sunshine: Crystal (Allison Janney) holds a contest for employee of the year, despite having secretly already chosen a winner and Ben (Matthew Perry) caters to the needs of a teen heartthrob (Joe Jonas), who is scheduled to perform in this new episode (9:30 p.m. ABC).

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior: In this spinoff of the hit forensic drama “Criminal Minds,” an elite team of agents led by Special Agent Sam Cooper (Forest Whitaker) employs unusual methods to capture twisted criminals. (10 p.m. CBS).

Caught by the SS: The Wereth Eleven: Revisiting the heroic battle waged against the attacking German army at the start of the Battle of the Bulge and the dramatic escape made by 11 men who made it through a 10-mile trek to Belgium, then were massacred by SS troops (6 and 9 p.m. National Geographic).
