Showtime’s two freshman series, ‘Episodes’ and ‘Shameless,’ have been picked up for a second season.

Showtime President of Entertainment David Nevins announced that ‘Shameless,’ a comedy-drama starring William H. Macy as the often-drunk matriarch of an unconventional family, will have a second-season order of 12 episodes. ‘Episodes,’ featuring Matt LeBlanc as the arrogant star of an American sitcom adapted by a British couple, received a second-season order with the number of episodes yet to be determined.
