Maybe David Letterman should do a ‘Top Ten Reasons Why You Might Be Watching ‘Nightline’ Instead.’ On Thursday, ABC announced that, season-to-date, its late-night news program now ranks first among total viewers and adults ages 25 to 54, marking the show’s first time in first place since ‘The Late Show’ began on CBS.

The news comes not long after ABC decided to trim ‘Nightline’ by six minutes in order to give ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ a stronger lead-in time. ABC News President Ben Sherwood recently said that the network plans on giving ‘Nightline’ a new format to make the most of its editorial content in its shortened time. Already, the show’s newfound focus on demonic possession is paying off.
