ABC sets new mid-season comedy premiere dates

ABC has scheduled the new single-camera comedy co-created and starring Perry, ‘Mr. Sunshine,’ for that night at 9:30 p.m. Perry plays the manager of a local sports stadium in San Diego who realizes on his 40th birthday that he cannot get by on his charm alone. Allison Janney (‘The West Wing’) costars.

ABC’s other new single-camera comedy, ‘Happy Endings,’ will premiere April 13 at 10 p.m., following the run of new drama, ‘Off the Map,’ by executive producer Shonda Rhimes, which premieres on Jan. 12.

Created by David Caspe, ‘Happy Endings’ is an ensemble comedy about a couple that breaks up at the altar and their group of friends. The cast includes: Elisha Cuthbert (‘24’), Zachary Knighton (‘Flash Forward’), Eliza Coupe (‘Scrubs’), Damon Wayans Jr., Casey Wilson and Adam Pally.

‘Cougar Town’ will return to the ABC sechedule April 13 at 9:30 p.m. and repeats of ‘Modern Family’ will air at 10:30 p.m., beginning April 13.

ABC had previously scheduled the new drama ‘Body of Proof,’ starring Dana Delany, for March 29 at 9 p.m.

‘The Bachelor’ returns on Jan. 3, ‘V’ returns on Jan. 4, and ‘Winter Wipeout’ on Jan. 6.
