BET, MTV to host ‘Conversation With President Obama’

BET, MTV, Centric, CMT and other Viacom-owned channels will air a one-hour commercial-free town hall event with President Obama on Oct. 14.

The special, ‘A Conversation With President Obama’ will air at live at 1 p.m. PDT and take place before an audience of approximately 250 young people ‘representing a broad spectrum of backgrounds, interests and political viewpoints,’ according to a statement from the networks.

Obama is scheduled to answer questions on a wide range of topics from the audience and from viewers who submit questions via Twitter.

Other channels showing the special include mtvU and Tr3s. The event also will be streamed live on BET.com, CMT.com and MTV.com.

The event is a production of MTV News and BET News and will be hosted by MTV’s Sway Calloway, BET’s April Woodard and CMT’s Katie Cook.
