The network has picked up a half-hour sketch comedy series for midseason with the Academy Award-winning actor serving as executive producer, Fox announced Wednesday.

The show is pegged to follow in the vein of “In Living Color,” which Foxx starred in from 1991 to 1994. It will offer a diverse cast taking on pop culture, including spoofs of movie trailers, commercials, TV shows, music videos and celebrities.

Affion Crockett, whose online spoofs of celebrities such as Jay-Z and Tiger Woods have made him a hit, will star in and also serve as a producer of the comedy.

‘Jamie Foxx’s brilliance first shined on Fox, so it’s fantastic to welcome him back to the network,’ said Fox president of entertainment Kevin Reilly in a statement. ‘Jamie is an undeniable comedy powerhouse both as a performer and a producer, and teamed with the outrageous next-generation comedy of Affion Crockett, we look forward to the next wave of sketch comedy on Fox.’
