An Emmy snub for 'Sons of Anarchy's' Katey Sagal

July 8, 2010 |  8:56 am

Sagal If there was an Emmy for the most obvious and egregious snub, it might go this year to Katey Sagal, who delivered a stunning performance this year as biker doyenne Gemma in “Sons of Anarchy.”

Not only was she gang-raped by white supremacists — against a chain link fence, people! — early in the season, she was forced to keep mum about it for fear of what it would do to her husband and sons.

If this kind of dramatic performance doesn't earn you an Emmy nomination — Jodie Foster won an Oscar for “The Accused” for heaven’s sake — then I don’t know what this town is coming to.
