‘Rescue Me’ returns for its sixth season on June 29, FX announced Tuesday. The firefighter-centric series will conclude next summer, with 10 episodes airing now and a new season of nine episodes to air in 2011.

The final two seasons will focus on Tommy Gavin’s (Denis Leary) last shot at redemption. Whether he is redeemed or not, Tommy Gavin and the rest of the firefighter will help launch a new comedy, ‘Louie,’ which was created by and stars Louis C.K.
