While the highly anticipated return of ‘Glee’ is two months away, the show continues to get honor-roll worthy guest stars. ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum Molly Shannon is the latest to enroll in McKinley High School.

A show rep and inside sources confirm that Shannon, who gave the word ‘superstar’ new meaning, is set to join the hit series at the end of the season, and best of all she will be giving sneaky Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) a run for her money as her new nemesis.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Shannon will play ‘Brenda Castle, the busty 45-year-old new astronomy teacher and badminton coach at McKinley High School who is both an alcoholic and a pill-popper.’
Fans of hers from her ‘SNL’ days know she can sing, but no word on if she will belt a tune.

The role is reportedly recurring, and Shannon’s first episode is set to air in May.

We here at Show Tracker will admit we’re a bit indifferent to Shannon coming aboard. We’ve been overwhelmed with news and rumors of guest stars (though the rumored Jennifer Lopez stint would be amazing, depending on whom you ask) during the painfully long hiatus we are more excited to reunite with our favorite kids!
Here’s hoping Shannon’s stint will give us a chance to forgive and forget ‘Kath & Kim.’
