He’s conquered the Olympics. So naturally, the next step for gold medal-winning figure skater Evan Lysacek would be to conquer … a reality dance show competition? The Los Angeles-based Lysacek told EW.com he’d like to be a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” “I would love to try ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” he told EW in an e-mail. “I was a proud audience member (and cheerleader) as my friends Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Ohno danced their way to the Mirrorball trophy. All I have heard from everyone that has done the show is what a blast it is. That could be a good way for me to do something extremely challenging, but also fun to celebrate my Olympic win.”

This, coming off the recent news that Lysacek has opted not to compete in ice skating’s World Championships next month in Turin. Italy. Could he be clearing his schedule for a chance for a spin on the rectagon floor instead?
