The Major and the Minor: The need to save money leads to unfulfilled romance in this 1942 comedy directed by Billy Wilder. Ginger Rogers stars an unemployed woman who poses as an underage girl in order to afford a ticket home to Iowa. On the train, she meets and falls for Maj. Philip Kirby (Ray Milland), who can’t get past her supposed age. Rita Johnson and Lela Rogers costar (5 p.m. TCM).

Spy Game: Robert Redford stars in this 2001 thriller as a CIA agent ready for retirement when his former protégé (Brad Pitt) gets arrested and sentenced to die while on a mission in China (8 p.m. AMC).
