It’s strange to see “90210’s” adult cast members making more news than their younger costars.

Earlier this week, original “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Jennie Garth hinted that she’s moving on from the CW spinoff. Now the network confirms that Rob Estes (who plays Wilson patriarch, Harry) is leaving the show.

A CW spokesperson confirmed to Show Tracker that the former soap star and original “Melrose Place” actor will now be the former “90210” actor, as well.

‘This is Rob’s last season,’ a ‘90210’ representative confirms. ‘He’s a talented actor, and we couldn’t have asked for a better Harry Wilson.’

The ‘90210’ representative also told Show Tracker that viewers will soon understand Estes’ reason for leaving.

Radar Online quotes “sources close to the situation” who say that Estes left amenably after he and the ‘90210’s’ producers agreed that his role has run its course. Other sources told the website that contract negotiations fell apart over Estes’ salary.

Regardless of the reason, Estes’ character has seen his fair share of plotline fizzles. At one point, we thought he had found the son he fathered with Naomi Clark’s mother. The son ended up being a gold-digging impostor. It seemed for a hot second that he was going to enter into an affair with Garth’s Kelly Taylor. Once again, that went nowhere after Garth reportedly refused to take part in the story.

Last we saw of Harry Wilson, he was having some kind of midlife crisis. He tried to latch on to the much-younger Ryan Matthews character, embarrassing himself when he arrived home drunk. Needless to say, the Kelly flirtation and drunkenness has strained his relationship with his wife, Debbie (played by Lori Loughlin).

So, the real question now is: How will Harry be written out of the show? According to its cast, shooting for Season 2 is almost wrapped. Will he be killed off? Will his midlife crisis send him off to alcohol rehab for life? Whatever it is, the writers will have to work fast. How do you think we’ll say goodbye to Harry Wilson?

[Update 12:05 p.m.: Rob Estes has released a statement: ‘This is my final season on ‘90210’ and I wish the show, cast and crew nothing but the best. I am looking forward to spending time with my kids and exploring other opportunities.’]
