UFO Hunters: ‘The Silencers’ kicks off a new season with accounts from people who claim they have encountered men in black bent on silencing UFO researchers and witnesses to alien encounters (8 p.m. History). A second new episode at 10 p.m. reveals efforts to obtain records of military responses to reported UFOs.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: When a popular coach is found murdered in his home, an entire college football team is under suspicion (9 p.m. CBS).

The Office: While attending an important business meeting Michael (Steve Carell) falls into a koi pond (9 p.m. NBC).

30 Rock: Jack and Liz (Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey) travel to Kenneth’s hometown in search of new talent (9:30 p.m. NBC).

The Mentalist: Lisbon and Jane (Robin Tunney, Simon Baker) and the team investigate when a wealthy man dies, and witnesses claim he was killed by a ghost haunting his mansion. Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman, Amanda Righetti and Terry Kinney also star in this new episode (10 p.m. CBS).

The Real Housewives of Atlanta: This reunion episode takes an inside look at the personal dramas that affect the housewives’ affluent lifestyles (10 p.m. Bravo).

The League: This new series revolves around a fantasy football league (10:30 p.m. FX).

MOVIES

Sinbad the Sailor: Starring the irrepressible Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and the beautiful Maureen O’Hara, this swashbuckling 1947 adventure regales the audience with tales of the fabled seaman. Walter Slezak, Anthony Quinn, George Tobias and Jane Greer co-star (3 p.m. TCM).

X-Men: The comic book comes to life in director Bryan Singer’s dazzling 2000 adventure. Patrick Stewart plays the leader of gifted mutants, brought together to fight a criminal mastermind (Ian McKellen) and his own superpowered minions. Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (6:30 p.m. HBO).

Baseball: The World Series, Game 2: The Philadelphia Phillies visit the the New York Yankees (4:30 p.m. Fox).

College football: North Carolina at Virginia Tech (4:30 p.m. ESPN).
