Jerry Seinfeld, who next stars in the new season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ will be the first guest to drop by ‘The Jay Leno Show’ when it makes its prime-time debut on Sept. 14.

NBC announced Friday that Seinfeld will be Leno’s first and only guest for the premiere. Leno has referred to Seinfeld in the press as someone he consulted with while deciding whether to accept NBC’s offer to launch a new 10 p.m. nightly vehicle.

During the TCA press tour, Leno said he’d have only one guest per episode -- two max -- on his new show, and no desk. He also revealed that ‘NBC Nightly News’ anchor Brian Williams would pop up for bits regularly, as would a team of correspondents, including comics D.L. Hughley and Mikey Day.
