Breakfast alert: Here come the Oscar nominations

At 5:30 a.m. PST (a leisurely 8:30 a.m. for you East Coasters) the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce this year’s Oscar nominations. Is this just the next step in ‘Slumdog’s’ rise to the top? Will ‘Dark Knight’ shatter the glass ceiling on superhero movies? And which movie will Kate Winslet get nominated for — ‘The Reader’ or ‘Revolutionary Road’? Or both?

The announcement will be on all the TV networks, but news, analysis, a complete list of the nominees and reactions from the lucky few will be collected at TheEnvelope.com. Be sure to check in for live and continuously updated coverage.
