E! is reporting that ‘Dancing With the Stars’ pro Julianne Hough will have her appendix out Tuesday -- but will dance tonight. Via news release, E! says that ‘(a)n inside source confirms exclusively to E! News that Julianne Hough from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ will have a minor procedure tomorrow to have her appendix removed.’ The release goes on to say that ‘the insider also confirmed to E! News that despite the pending procedure, Hough will be dancing on tonight’s show. Producers plan to reveal the news on the broadcast and explain that after this evening’s performance, Hough’s partner, Cody Linley, will be paired with another pro from the show until Hough feels well enough to return.’

Now, when I looked on E!’s site, things became more confusing. It turns out that Julianne doesn’t have appendicitis, but rather endometriosis, which can, in some cases, grow on your appendix. This at least explains why she’s been cleared to dance tonight, because appendicitis is usually considered an emergency situation.

Still, questions remain, like how was Julianne’s endometriosis definitively diagnosed without a laparoscopy? (I happen to know a great deal about endometriosis. Really.) I want Dr. Sanjay Gupta on the case.
