Jamie Foxx is taking his executive producer gig on the upcoming MTV makeover series “From G’s to Gents” very seriously.

In it, author Fonzworth Bentley and his team put some thuggish, low-pants-wearing Gs through a charm school of sorts. The man most transformed wins $100,000.

“I’ve done music videos with some of these guys that are thug’d out,” Foxx said. On the series, “you’ll find out that they have families, they want to cross over, do other things.”

Foxx, who is executive producing the series, said the show’s focus is to present the cast with new opportunities. “I think it’s going to help a lot of people who are really wanting to change their life. It makes you feel good. We’re trying to make a show, trying to make money, but the stories of these guys and to see them on the other end, it’s a beautiful thing.”

Bentley, whose book “Advance Your Swagger” helped inspire the show, said that the point is not to change who the guys are or where they came from. Rather, “I want to help change [the meaning of] cool. It is cool to know how to treat a lady, to have faith in god, to go to college, to have respect.”

Foxx said he will appear on the series, but not in every episode. “From G’s to Gents” premieres July 15.
