Picketers at the ‘Big Shots’ location shooting at 4th Street and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles brought a radio device that tapped the on-set walkie-talkies. Strikers could cue the heckling when the cameras started to roll. ‘We came prepared,’ said the device-wielding writer, who didn’t want to be identified. ‘We’re not clueless.’

The spirit was boisterous: Later, a woman in a scarf held up both middle fingers in a crude gesture toward the picketers. The picketer with the megaphone cracked: ‘Could you do that double flip-off again for continuity?’
